Christine grew up in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. She often reflects on the memories of growing up embraced in the natural world and uses that inspiration to shape her work. She attended Keystone College in La Plume, Pennsylvania where she studied Fine Arts.  She received her B.F.A. and Art Education Certification from Tyler School of Art in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. She currently resides in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia with her super creative family, is a teaching artist and works mostly in acrylic, mixed media and collage. She is both a self proclaimed city mouse and country mouse but feels most at home sitting on a mossy forest bed.

Artist Statement : My work consists of play and exploration of line, color, empty space, shape, mark making and texture while hoping to invoke a sense of discovery and rediscovery in the viewer. The use of organic abstract shapes, patterns or rhythms and hints of what they might represent, along with the use of images which invoke a sort of stillness and quiet reflection all play an important role in my work. My art often carries themes of solitude, longing, growth, struggle, potential and ephemeral beauty within the space of fleeting moments seeking to capture nature’s ever changing tapestry. My art serves as a reflection of my connection to nature and I hope to convey the sense of wonder and interconnectedness that I hold so dearly and that binds us all so profoundly to the natural world.
