Christine grew up in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania at the edge of the State Game Lands. It is there that she felt embraced by the natural world and finds that now those sights, sounds, textures and beauty of the forest shape her work. She attended Keystone College in La Plume, Pennsylvania where she studied Fine Arts. She received her B.F.A. and Art Education Certification from Tyler School of Art in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. She currently resides in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia with her super creative family, is a teaching artist and works mostly in acrylic, mixed media, ink and collage. She has become both a city mouse and country mouse but feels most at home sitting on a mossy forest bed.
Artist Statement : I am interested in capturing the natural world and things I observe, have observed or imagined. Using paint, paper or materials on hand, I work in raw emotion- exploring mark making and tapping into a primal place I cannot name yet call “home”.
